To the best of our ability, we will work with you to meet your housing needs. To read more about LGBTQ campus housing resources, visit the Reslife LGBTQ Housing website, email Honors Humanities, or confidentially contact reslife directly by emailing Michelle McCubbin at mmccubbi@umd.edu. Honors Humanities Community

Honors Humanities fosters a tight-knit community and liberal-arts experience by hosting regular social, educational, and professional events. These events take place in the dorm, on campus, in Washington, D.C. and Baltimore, and beyond. In addition to the regular Council programming described below, Honors Humanities hosts such things as visits to the Challenge Course at Eppley, food trucks, a Sophomore weekend trip to NYC, and more.

In Honors Humanities, I met some of my truest friends, I participated in some of the most memorable debates and discussions of my college career, and made tons of amazing memories while I was at it. I learned things about myself, about my friends, and about my world.

Campus

As a University of Maryland student, you'll have access to a number of on-campus facilities and resources, as well as the opportunity to join any number of the 800 student organizations, clubs, fraternities and sports teams:

  • Experience performances at the Clarice Smith Performing Arts Center.
  • Stay healthy at the Eppley Recreation Center.
  • Enjoy ice cream at the famous UMD Dairy.
  • Join Model Congress (founded as part of a Keystone Project).
  • Help shape campus by running for Student Government Association.
  • Perform with the Maryland Shakespeare Player.

The strong sense of community and support in HoHum helped acclimate me into a huge college campus. Since I felt so welcome and accepted in HoHum, I was better able to put myself out there outside of HoHum because I knew I had a home in HoHum to come back to.
