Sophia Winner • President

Sophia Winner is a sophomore from Baltimore, Maryland who is pursuing a dual degree in Government and Politics and Economics. She hopes to become a lawyer or politician in the future and holds officer positions for Maryland’s Parliamentary Debate Society and Maryland’s Economics Association. Outside of school she enjoys art, activism, and field hockey. She is very excited to foster an inclusive community and fulfilling experience within the Honors Humanities program, and cannot wait to work with everyone – students, faculty, and council alike.

Jahnavi Kirkire

Jahnavi Kirkire • Vice President

Jahnavi hails from Brookeville, and is pursuing a dual degree in Government & Politics - IR and Public Policy, with a double minor in History and Law & Society. She is a Public Policy Ambassador, member of the HC Programming Council, the incoming SGA rep for the North Hill Community, and SUPER excited to work with you guys!

Comfort Oshagbemi • DEI/Liaison

Comfort Oshagbemi is a sophomore from Montgomery County, Maryland. She is majoring in Government and Politics with a concentration in International relations and a minor in History. She is interested in the intersectionalities of different cultures and pre and post-colonial history. In her free time, she enjoys reading and watching shows. She can't wait to work with all the new freshmen this fall!

Ella Gammel • Secretary-Historian

Ella Gammel is a sophomore English major from Salisbury, Maryland. She hopes to help create a supportive environment for all HoHum students and build community between freshmen and sophomores. Ella is involved with the Maryland Shakespeare Players and the Trash Club, and when she is not busy being a cool and epic Secretary-Historian, she can be found reading, baking, playing video games, and hanging out with her friends! She’s super excited to meet all of the freshmen in the fall!

Hazel Montgomery-Walsh • Social Chair

Hazel Montgomery-Walsh is a Government and Politics Major concentrating in International Relations from Baltimore, Maryland. In addition to being on the council, she is a volunteer for Peer to Peer UMD, member of Terps Against Hunger, is a writer for the history section of the Observer publication on campus, and loves to participate in intramural sports—especially soccer—here on campus. In her free time, she enjoys playing with her cats, cooking, creating art, trying new foods, hanging out with friends, and being in the outdoors. She hopes to help create connections and allow the HoHum community a place to have fun and grow together, and she looks forward to making new friends throughout the process!

Beverly Bolster • Treasurer

Beverly Bolster is a sophomore from Baltimore County, Maryland who is pursuing a double degree in sociology and geographical sciences: geospatial data science. In addition to being on HoHum council, she edits for The Observer and is involved in Terps Against Hunger. In her free time, Beverly loves to run, hike, bake, and spend time outside with friends. She is excited to work with the HoHum council this year to support incoming freshmen and to create a positive environment for everyone.
