Join our community of writers working with poetry, prose, screenwriting, and more! Take classes together over two years to hone your craft alongside fellow writers while working towards a self-published chapbook of your very own. March 1, 2023 is the final deadline for current UMD undergraduates. Incoming freshman and transfer students have until May 1st and May 15th respectively.

Writers' House students:
- Live together, forming a vibrant literary community in centrally located, fully air-conditioned Queen Anne’s Hall. Amenities at Queen Anne's include a Production Lab within the residence hall with free printing for Writers' House students, and a poetry library/quiet study area.
- Major in all fields, may be transfers or moving in from off-campus, and may be freshmen, sophomores, juniors, or seniors,
- Participate in a myriad of literary activities including:
- Publication of Stylus, our on-campus literary journal
- Writers Here and Now visiting authors series
- Writing workshops available in poetry, prose, screenwriting, spoken word, and publication
- Field trips, including a Fall Retreat and student-planned field trips
- One-on-one manuscript advising
- So much more!
