About the Event

Join the search for the UMD Symphony Orchestra’s next featured soloist. In the first round of this annual competition, student musicians perform concerto excerpts or concert pieces for an independent jury panel. With each round of the competition, the field is narrowed until the final round, when a winner and runners-up are announced.

Orchestra Concerto Competition Finals

Finalists perform 15- to 20-minute excerpts. Following the jury’s deliberation, a winner and runners-up will be announced.
