Migration: UMD Wind Ensemble
Migration: UMD Wind Ensemble
About the Event
Inspired by his wife and her family’s journey to the United States, Adam Schoenberg’s Symphony No. 2, “Migration”, chronicles the voyage of immigrant families as they follow the path towards the American Dream. Each movement represents a step in the process, from the initial catalyst for change to the beginning of a new life where anything is possible.
In their December concert, the University of Maryland Wind Ensemble builds upon the themes explored by Schoenberg’s second symphony with additional works by Steve Danyew, Vincent Persichetti, Danny Mitchell and Valerie Coleman.
