Bios

Christine “Xine” Yao is Lecturer in American Literature to 1900 at University College London. Her book, Disaffected: The Cultural Politics of Unfeeling in Nineteenth-Century America, is forthcoming from Duke University Press. Xine is the co-host of PhDivas Podcast and a BBC Radio 3/AHRC New Generation Thinker.

Lisa Lowe is Samuel Knight Professor of American Studies and Ethnicity, Race, and Migration at Yale University. She is the author of books and essays on race, colonialism, migration, and globalization, including the most recent, The Intimacies of Four Continents (Duke UP, 2015).
