Conductor Daniel Hege leads the NOI Philharmonic in a program featuring Richard Wagner’s intoxicating Overture to Tannhäuser, Jimmy López Bellido’s Perú Negro, inspired by Afro-Peruvian traditional songs, and Sergei Rachmaninoff’s poignant Symphony No. 3, deeply rooted in the composer’s heritage.
This event is part of the National Orchestral Institute + Festival (NOI+F), a program of The Clarice at the University of Maryland. NOI+F trains aspiring orchestral musicians, composers, conductors and arts administrators from across the country in a month of dynamic music-making and professional exploration.
