COLLEGE PARK, Md. - The Writing Center at the University of Maryland readied its 60-plus tutoring force to aid distressed students in New York and New Jersey with an unusual form of hurricane relief: remote tutoring help.
"Some of those students have even lost their homes," said Writing Center Director Leigh Ryan, who jumped at the opportunity to help storm-ravaged scholars recover from weeks of missed courses. The Writing Center is based out of the Department of English at the University of Maryland.
