Throughout the course of Spring 2020, students in UMD's College Park Art Scholars have overcome many unforeseen challenges, some that have required a reimagining of ideas with difficult, however necessary adjustments to their creative process and project timelines. Arts Fest 2020, originally meant to be on display at UMD's Stamp Student Union, has made the necessary leap to a fully fledged online exhibition stacked with exceptional original artwork.
Art Scholars have made the most of unique circumstances, pulling together a compelling collection of artistry that exemplifies the extraordinary talent, scholarship and vision these freshmen and sophomore students have brought to bear. Most impressive is the students' dedication to sharing their completed artwork during an unprecedented time where maintaining creativity, focus and resolve can be understandably elusive. As a community, these Art Scholars can state emphatically: "Art Happens Here, Everyday."
