Professor of History Paul Landau discusses his 2022 book, “Spear: Mandela and the Revolutionaries.” In this talk, he delves into the racism, land dispossession and violence that was rampant during the time of apartheid in South Africa and how African nationalists and Marxists destabilized the system to open the way for a new state. He also explores the long-term results of that effort.
The talk is part of a series centering ARHU faculty expertise on issues of systemic racism, inequality and social justice.
