ARHU Announces New Bridge Scholarship

Scholarship will offer financial support to current, returning students and incoming transfer students.

The College of Arts and Humanities (ARHU) at the University of Maryland is pleased to announce the new ARHU Bridge Scholarship—helping you bridge the gap between where you are and where you want to be. This scholarship will provide financial support for current and returning students as well as incoming transfer students and will be awarded based on both merit and need.

All scholarship applicants need to have a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) or Maryland State Financial Aid Application (MSFAA) on file with the University of Maryland. Stay tuned for more information on how to apply.

Here is additional information on eligibility:

For Current or Returning UMD Students (has earned UMD credit):

Eligibility: Students who are first generation college students, and/or are returning after a 2+ year separation, and/or are eligible for the University System of Maryland Nonresident Tuition Exemption and/or hold Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals status with the state of Maryland.

Criteria: 

Merit-based award: requires 3.5 GPA or above

Need-based award: requires academic eligibility and current enrollment; a statement of need

For Incoming Transfer Students (no earned UMD credits):

Eligibility: Students who are first generation college students, and/or are eligible for the University System of Maryland Nonresident Tuition Exemption and/or hold DACA status with the state of Maryland

Criteria:

Merit-based award: requires 3.5 GPA or above at previous college/university

Need-based award: requires confirmed admission; a statement of need
