As the United States observes its 250th anniversary, we remember that the nation-state as we know it today was founded on indigenous lands open to border crossings of all sorts. The School of Languages, Literatures, and Cultures will screen "The Long Walk of Carlos Guerrero” (Matthew 2024) in recognition of this legacy of crossings. The film tells the story of migrant crossings and solidarities between people on the ground. Director Joseph Matthew and renowned border human rights activist Michael “Mike” Wilson (Tohono O’odham) will participate in a Zoom Q&A.
