College of Arts and Humanities | Language House | School of Languages, Literatures, and Cultures Wednesday, October 16, 2024 6:00 pm - 7:30 pm St Mary’s Hall, International Film Lounge (0107)

The Language House International Film Series presents films selected by Language House students representing their target languages and cultures. This year, the theme of the series is "Social Inequities," reflecting the theme of the UMD First Year Book. Please join us on October 16 at 6pm in the International Film Lounge (0107 St. Mary's Hall) for a screening of the film "Parasite". Everyone is welcome!

The film features the Kim family, living in a shabby semi-basement with no stable jobs, gets an opportunity to earn money. Ki-woo, the son, is introduced by a friend to become a tutor for the wealthy Park family's daughter, Da-hye, and enters the luxurious home of Mr. Park, a successful leader of a global IT company, full of hope. This marks the beginning of an unpredictable encounter between two families living completely opposite lives.
