College of Arts and Humanities | Joseph and Alma Gildenhorn Institute for Israel Studies | Joseph and Rebecca Meyerhoff Program and Center for Jewish Studies Tuesday, September 30, 2025 12:30 pm - 2:00 pm , Virtual

Israeli politics in 2025 stands at a moment of profound uncertainty and transformation. The aftershocks of the October 7, 2023, terror attack and the ongoing war in Gaza continue to reverberate across Israeli society, reshaping its political landscape, institutions, and public discourse. This online event, featuring senior political and diplomatic correspondent for The Times of Israel, Tal Schneider, will examine the current dynamics driving Israeli politics, including shifts in party alignments, debates over security and diplomacy, struggles over democratic governance, and the impact of deepening social divisions. By placing today’s developments within a broader historical political context, the discussion will offer insights into the challenges Israel faces as it navigates questions of leadership, legitimacy, and the search for long-term stability.

Tal Schneider is an Israeli journalist and political commentator, currently serving as a senior Political and Diplomatic Correspondent for The Times of Israel.
