Conference: Society of Early Americanists 2023 Biennial
The Society of Early Americanists convenes from June 8–11 at the University of Maryland. All regular panels will take place in Tawes Hall.
The conference, chaired by SEA President and Professor of English and Comparative Literature Ralph Bauer, will bring together more than 300 scholars of the early Americas, including many from the University of Maryland. Topics explored include early Native American and Indigenous studies, Latin American studies, Black studies, creative writing and the history of the book.
The conference is supported by the Center for Literary and Comparative Studies and BookLab. BookLab is also co-sponsoring three workshops and will be open throughout the conference for demonstrations and printing of SEA swag.

- Carla Peterson (Emerita, English, University of Maryland)
- Gabrielle Tayac (History and Art History, George Mason University)
