Cécile McLorin Salvant

Cecile McLorin Salvant

College of Arts and Humanities | The Clarice Smith Performing Arts Center Friday, April 25, 2025 8:00 pm - 10:00 pm Kay Theatre

ABOUT THE EVENT

When musical historians look back on our current era, it's increasingly likely that they will consider Cécile McLorin Salvant to be one of the greatest vocalists of her generation. A winner of the prestigious MacArthur "Genius" Grant, Salvant has released seven highly acclaimed LPs before the age of 35, three of which have won the Grammy Award for Best Jazz Vocal album. Her latest release, 2023's Mélusine, truly a triumph, was presented primarily in French. Her fairy-tale theater work, Ogresse, has toured to The Kennedy Center and stages around the world. This May, Salvant will perform at Carnegie Hall but you can catch this singular artist at The Clarice first, making her debut at the Kay Theatre.
