In the Brazilian Amazon, thousands are illegally destroying protected land, killing ancient trees and mining rare resources. Directed by Indigenous activist Edivan Guajajara and filmmakers Chelsea Greene and Rob Grobman, We Are Guardians spotlights Indigenous fighters like Marçal Guajajara and Puyr Tembé as they battle to protect their home from deforestation. The film also explores the complex realities of an illegal logger struggling to survive and a landowner fighting to preserve the ecosystem. Through intimate, character-driven storytelling, this film reveals the human impact of a crisis that affects us all.
