ARHU Dean's Lecture Series with Peter Sagal
About the Event
Humor, Hope, and the Humanities: Why Creativity Matters
For more than 25 years, Peter Sagal has made sense of the news of the day—one laugh at a time—as host of NPR’s popular weekly news quiz “Wait Wait... Don't Tell Me!” This fall, ARHU Dean Stephanie Shonekan sits down with the quick-witted host for a timely and essential conversation.
Drawing on Sagal’s unique experience interviewing everyone from politicians and comedians to cultural icons, they’ll explore why boundless creativity matters now more than ever and why humor works with the humanities to generate hope in difficult times. Together, they'll examine how creativity, empathy, and transformative thinking are absolutely necessary as we all seek to navigate uncertainty and build a meaningful future.
Co-sponsored by the College of Arts and Humanities and Arts for All.
Don't miss this meaningful conversation about why laughter, creativity, and critical thinking matter for all of us.
