Two-Day Festival Celebrating the Arts Welcomed Thousands

By Sarah Snyder | Maryland Today

Forty-five performances, installations and events. Two days of creativity and exploration. Over 5,000 attendees. On Friday and Saturday, NextNOW Fest at the Clarice Smith Performing Arts Center welcomed students and the community to celebrate the arts with an immersive, free festival featuring artists from the University of Maryland and around the country.

In its sixth year, NextNOW Fest 2019 included music, dance, theater, wrestling, immersive installations, comedy, balloon art and much more.

Presented and produced by the The Clarice’s Artist Partner Programs, NextNOW Fest also featured the talent of students from the School of Music, the School of Theatre, Dance, and Performance Studies and other departments around campus. Co-curated with students, it was also a Terps After Dark event.
